The biblical case

Why can healing happen?

Because Scripture says so. Follow the trail.

Scripture is from God

2 Timothy 3:16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The Word is life and truth

John 6:63It is the spirit that gives life… the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 17:17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Know the Word, and truth brings freedom

John 15:7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
John 8:32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Christ is in me — the same yesterday, today, and forever

Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Galatians 2:20It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The purpose of Jesus coming

1 John 3:8For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

So if Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, then sin, sickness, and disease must bow to His name. The Word is our roadmap for how we are to live — and these scriptures are powerful, especially when applied in faith.

Every knee will bow to His name

Philippians 2:9-10God hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.

Signs follow those who believe

Mark 16:17-18And these signs shall follow them that believe… they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
John 14:12He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do.

He was sent to heal

Luke 4:18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted… and recovering of sight to the blind.
1 Peter 2:24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree… by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 53:5He was wounded for our transgressions… and with his stripes we are healed.

Faith, prayer, and drawing near

Hebrews 11:6Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is.
James 5:14-16Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church… and the prayer of faith shall save the sick… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 4:7-8Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Matthew 17:20If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed… nothing shall be impossible unto you.
2 Corinthians 5:7For we walk by faith, not by sight.

He sent His word and healed

Acts 10:38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
Luke 13:12-13He laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
John 10:10I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I know that was a lot — but what do you think? Was it enough to see that God intends to be alive and active today, just as much as He was when the Bible was written? It is for me. Study up, pray up, and get excited for the journey God will take you on as you act in faith and belief.
